The news of a full-day excursion creates much excitement for this enthusiastic music class at Bright Sparks Junior College. Just think – their dreams of going to see a musical production are about to come true! Will it be a concert, a ballet, an opera – or some other stage production? Believe it or not, it’s none of these; it’s the most unlikely type of music excursion that one could imagine. What will they see, or – more importantly – hear? It’s going to be a day of surprises; who would have thought that “Outdoor Music” would involve concepts of Musical Time, Rhythm, Sound, Silence, and Speed? And what exactly is outdoor music, anyway?

So off they go; there’s so much to learn! Some of it almost seems like maths – or is it science? And then there’s rhyming, too, isn’t there? It’s how to use one’s ears – and eyes. And don’t forget that coordination; there’s no chance of boredom on this day! But it’s not just a one-day adventure – class time is also a hoot. Why? Because this is a music class like no other, and it’s led by an awesome teacher who knows just how to spark his students’ curiosity. Ta, ti-ti, tika tika (or is it za, si, and zi?) – there’s more than one way to skill up on rhythm, and you’d better know those fractions! So why wait? Get ready for some cool edutainment, and remember to keep that beat steady!
